Now, if you have ever been to the Philippines lately, or you currently live here, then you would most likely have heard about this not-so little burger establishment. Zark’s Burgers is on a different level when it comes to their burgers. I personally, I have tried some of the options available on their menu, but since it was my wife’s first time to try Zark’s, what better way to commemorate such an occasion by blogging about it. Hahaha!
Fair warning, dear readers. Zark’s should actually come with a warning, but since they don’t, I’ll be the one to give you the warning. The burgers that they serve are REALLY greasy. That is actually the motto: “The greasier, the better.” Their food is not for the faint of heart. You must have “no ragrets! Y’know what I’m sayin’?” But I will tell you, should you have the heart, and stomach, for these burgers, it will be ABSOLUTELY(!!!!) worth it.
So let’s go down to the nitty, gritty, and greasy.
The burgers here vary in size, mainly the Minor League and the Major League. And since the love for burgers is too strong, we went for the Major League burgers. So please, observe Exhibit A:
That mean looking burger is called the Maverick Burger. It is a flame-grilled half-pound black pepper crusted topped with deep fried bacon.* You have to admit, it looks quite intimidating. Despite its appearance, this is one delicious burger. The deep fried bacon just crunches under your bite, while the meat slowly disintegrates when you chew it. You can literally feel the grease dripping down from the burger. Caution: if you cannot open your mouth big enough, it is advised you cut the burger in half first. This is served with fries and iced tea or lemonade. At only 215 pesos, this more bang for your buck!
Now, that big bad burger you see above, that is the Jawbreaker. And it earns that name for sure, because it is a triple cheeseburger with Spam, bacon, and overflowing cheese sauce.* This is not for everyone. Eating the Jawbreaker alone is a challenge enough, but there is a Jawbreaker challenge where you have to consume that behemoth in FIVE MINUTES (!!!!!!). But if you are able to finish the challenge, the burger is free.
I’m pretty sure you would think that I ordered this monster of burger. Nope, it was my wife who ordered it. (Yeah, I was shocked too.) To shock you even more, she was able to finish it. Thankfully, she didn’t do the challenge since she’s a newbie to Zark’s.
Aside from the two burgers that we tried, there are many more options available on the Zark’s menu that will make any hungry foodie or person salivate. I can assure you, we salivated when we read the menu.
Anyway, if you want to try Zark’s, please feel free to do so. But remember my warning before you do so.
